Resident, Dog Escape Port Richey House Fire

A resident and dog were able to escape a home in Port Richey after a malfunction in the air-conditioning system caused a fire.

PORT RICHEY, FL – A resident and dog were able to escape a home in Port Richey after a malfunction in the air-conditioning system caused a fire.

Pasco Fire-Rescue were called to the 7900 block of Halsey Drive at about 8:45 a.m. Thursday, March 15 for a house fire.

Firefighters said they could see a heavy column of smoke from a distance and reported heavy fire and smoke from the roof of the home upon arrival.

They were able to bring the fire under control in about 15 minutes.

The resident and dog weren’t injured. The American Red Cross has been called to the scene to assist.
