Sunday Morning Storm Causes Damage In Areas Of New Port Richey
Pasco County Fire Rescue responded to a report of storm damage Sunday morning in two New Port neighborhoods.
NEW PORT RICHEY, FL -- Pasco County Fire Rescue responded to a report of storm damage Sunday morning in two New Port neighborhoods.
Severe weather moved through the Tampa Bay area. leaving downed power lines and trees in its wake.
Pasco was one of several counties placed under a tornado warning. Residents in the Bolam Avenue and Moss Drive and along Atis Street reported that fencing was blown down, outside structures were damaged and a tree fell on top of an SUV. The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado touched down in the community.

Firefighters had to put out at least two small fires, one caused by an outside meter box catching fire. Power companies were called after several live wires were discovered on the ground.
No injuries were reported.

The warning has now been lifted.
Today's forecast calls for mostly clouds with on-and-off showers and possibly more thunderstorms that can bring flooding and damaging winds.
