Tax Collector Mike Fasano Announces Launch of Birth Certificate Sales

In yet another step to provide improved customer service options in Pasco County’s tax offices, Tax Collector Mike Fasano announces the sale of birth certificates for Florida –born customers.  A government-issued birth certificate is a required part of the federal “Real I.D. Act” to obtain or renew a driver’s license or a state identification card.  A customer may also need their Florida birth certificate for any number of reasons.

“We are constantly striving to make it as easy as possible for our customers to comply with the needs of the federal mandates regarding identification,” Tax Collector Mike Fasano states.  “Additionally, a customer may need a copy of their birth certificate for various other purposes.  As long as they were born in the state of Florida, we will be able to help them secure an authorized copy of their birth certificate.”

Customers who were born in Florida and who wish to purchase a birth certificate can visit any of the tax collectors offices in Pasco.  Customers will be given an application at the office.  If they are under the age of 18 a parent must sign the application.  The cost for the first certificate is $18.25, with additional copies for $8.00 each.  There is no limit to the number of certificates an individual may purchase.    Before purchasing the certificate the customer must present a valid identification in the form of a Driver License, a state-issue Identification Card, a Passport, a Military ID or any other acceptable government-issued ID.
