Wesley Chapel Man Accused Of Trying To Kill Father

Joseph Grabania was airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa to be treated for 19 stab wounds.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FLβ€”A Wesley Chapel man is being held on a $500,000 bond after being accused of attempting to kill his father.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, Stephen Grabania, 22, was in the home where he lived with his father, Joseph Grabania, at 3746 Ashton Oaks Blvd., Wesley Chapel, around 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8.

He reportedly knocked on his father’s bedroom door and, when his father answered, he began stabbing him with two kitchen knives, saying β€œI am going to bleed you to death.”

When Joseph Grabania tried to get away, his son stabbed him more. Eventually, Joseph Grabania was able to evade his son’s attack and make his way to a neighbor’s house who summoned help.

Joseph Grabania was airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa to be treated for 19 stab wounds on his neck, forearms, abdomen and one punctured his lung. He is in critical but stable condition.

Meanwhile, Strategic Targeted Area Response and SWAT deputies surrounded the home and ultimately arrested Stephen Grabania, charging him with attempted murder. He is being held in the Land O’ Lakes Detention Facility.
