Woman Accused of Crashing at Police Headquarters Faces Many Charges
Bond has been set at more than $140,000 for the woman who allegedly tried to hit an officer with a car.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 56-year-old woman accused of trying to hit a cop with her car and leading law enforcement on a “low-speed” chase before crashing in the parking lot of the New Port Richey’s Police Headquarters now faces a long list of charges.
Liisa Myers’ bond was set at $140,500 after police and Pasco County deputies combined charged her with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, fleeing to elude, DUI, DUI with property damage, three counts of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, reckless driving and other charges.
That long list began to add up Thursday afternoon when Liisa – which really is Liisa with two I’s, according to the sheriff’s office – caught the attention of a deputy around 1:45 p.m. when he noticed she was dozing off behind the wheel while driving northbound on U.S. 19 at Marine Parkway. Hoping to prevent an accident, the deputy used lights and the siren to try and get Myers’ attention, an email from the sheriff’s office stated.

Myers eventually slowed to a stop in front of a New Port Richey Police officer who got out of his cruiser to make sure she stayed put. Myers, the email said, decided to keep on going and “surged her vehicle toward the officers forcing him to take evasive action and jump out of the way.” She then hit the gas, drove onto a median and kept on going.

A “low-speed pursuit” began at that time (around 40 mph) with both the deputy and police officer trailing Myers, the email said. At one point, Myers almost hit a cruiser.
“Then she ended up in the parking lot of the New Port Richey Police Department where she drove over a curb and onto the lawn,” the email said. “She then backed up, slamming into a NPR PD cruiser.”
Myers was quickly brought into custody after that. She remained in the Land O’ Lakes jail Friday morning in lieu of that $140,500 bond.
