Zephyrhills Man Arrested After Hitting Child With Belt
Deputies say the accused punished a 6-year-old in his care by striking him on the right hand, left thigh, posterior and ribs with a belt.
ZEPHYRHILLS, FL—A Zephyrhills man is facing child abuse charges after reportedly striking a 6-year-old repeatedly with a belt.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, Trevanthony Dejuan Brown, 30, of 4831 16th St., Zephyrhills, punished a 6-year-old in his care by striking him on the right hand, left thigh, posterior and ribs with a belt.
Witnesses told deputies the child was having trouble standing, sitting and using his hand as a result of the beating. When questioned about the excessive discipline, Brown commented, “Children bruise easily.”
