• Dredging, debris disposal outlined in Longboat interlocal agreements (yourobserver.com) — Sarasota County's new debris agreement with Longboat Key designates the Sarasota Central County Landfill Complex in Nokomis as one of 19 official disaster debris sites, meaning storm cleanup trucks could be routed through your community after major storms. The deal, along with a sand-sharing dredging pact, still needs final approval from county and city leaders before taking effect.

What your neighbors are talking about on social media
- I just want to say "thank you" to the Sarasota Sanitation worker who brought my recycling can in for me.
I'm 86 and on a cane and I guess he saw me bringing in my garbage can. Looked around and he was dragging the recycling can around the side for me… (Nextdoor East Nokomis) - I just want to say a huge shout out to one my neighbors (Daniel) who stopped and helped my daughter change a tire when I was away at work.
I'm thankful and grateful for the help and so is my daughter. (Nextdoor East Nokomis)
