NORTH PORT: City OKs data center moratorium; stipulations for application (yoursun.com) — North Port commissioners have approved an 18‑month moratorium on new data centers, while still allowing review—but not approval—of a large proposed project called Deep Park in the city's eastern Yorkshire area. Residents packed recent hearings to raise concerns about water use, noise, and environmental impacts, while city leaders weighed those worries against the risk of an expensive lawsuit from the developer. 
2. 'I Can Hear!' Stunning Healing Testimony Erupts at Sean Feucht's Let Us Worship (mycharisma.com) — North Port is on the schedule for a Let Us Worship rally on Nov. 14, part of a national tour highlighted by a reported healing in Seattle. The story focuses on one woman's account of restored hearing and encourages attendees to come expecting spiritual experiences and prayer for miracles.
3. Venice's Sunset Lake Healthcare earned 2-star CMS rating in early 2026 (sarasotareview.com) — While focusing on Venice's Sunset Lake Healthcare, this report also lists North Port Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with a 2-star federal rating and about 106 residents on average. North Port families can compare that score with other Sarasota County nursing homes as they weigh long-term care options for aging loved ones in a rapidly growing senior population.
4. Bonded by cross-country, two LRHS runners lead side by side (yourobserver.com) — Lakewood Ranch High runners Addison Shear and Mackenzie Walker have been leading their team at major meets held in North Port, including the North Port Invitational and North Port Preserve Pursuit. Their close friendship and steadily improving times are helping the Mustangs earn podium finishes as they gear up for district, regional, and state cross-country championships.
5. Video: Driver slams into Fla. cruiser after failing to move over (police1.com) — North Port Police have released dash‑cam video of a driver slamming into a stopped cruiser on I‑75 after failing to move over, while the officer was outside helping at an earlier crash. The impact spun the cruiser around and caused heavy rear damage, though the officer was not inside at the time. Police are using the footage to stress Florida's Move Over law to local drivers.
