The closure leaves a prominent vacancy along the busy corridor, where nearby restaurants like New Wolfy's of Ocala and Seafood Seller Cafe continue to draw local diners.
   

• No injuries reported after Saturday morning fire in the North Magnolia Business District (352today.com) — Firefighters in Ocala quickly contained a Saturday morning blaze at an engine repair shop in the North Magnolia Business District, with no injuries reported. North Magnolia Avenue was temporarily closed while crews battled heavy smoke and heat, and investigators believe the accidental fire was likely electrical. Multiple city and county agencies, plus CSX, coordinated to protect nearby businesses and rail traffic.
   

• Impaired driver killed mom and son minutes after Florida officer let him go, chief says (abc7.com) — An impaired driver is accused of killing an Ocala mother and her adult son in a late-night crash shortly after an officer had stopped, then allowed the driver to leave. Ocala's police chief says the officer, new to the department, failed to investigate obvious impairment signs and is now on paid leave while a full internal investigation proceeds. The chief has apologized to the family and pledged reforms.
