• Ocoee Bulldogs tackle football team thrives with undefeated season (wesh.com) — Ocoee's 11U Bulldogs tackle football team is undefeated at 5-0 and has already clinched a Pop Warner playoff spot, with a homecoming game coming up at Bulldog Stadium. Coaches and parents say the program emphasizes academics, respect, and community pride, and they're asking Ocoee residents to show up in person to support the kids.
   

• George Jeffrey Woolfenden (orlando-news.com) — Family and friends are invited to honor George "Jeff" Woolfenden at a gathering this Friday, Sept. 18, at DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory on Matthew Paris Blvd. in Ocoee. The longtime outdoorsman and former nuisance alligator trapper is remembered for his loyalty, resourcefulness, and love of family, with a public viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service.
   

• Could the 'STAR Plan' bring mass transit to Orange County? (orlandosentinel.com) — A proposed STAR Plan for Orange County transit would create frequent, rapid bus or rail service on major corridors, including new routes running from Ocoee along Colonial Drive and Silver Star Road. If county commissioners advance the idea later this month, Ocoee residents could eventually see faster east–west connections to jobs, UCF, downtown, and SunRail without relying solely on cars.
