'All The Nuggets': Black Bear Swipes FL Family's Chick-Fil-A Order

A Seminole County man's security camera recently caught a black bear stealing their dinner from Chick-Fil-A.

SEMINOLE COUNTY, FL — A massive black bear showed absolutely no interest in sharing his nuggets when he strolled up to a Seminole County family's front porch recently and took off with their Chick-fil-A order.

Captured on video by Paul Newman and posted to Facebook Reels, the bear can be seen snatching the Chick-fil-A bag with his mouth before sauntering back into the darkness.

Newman can be heard lamenting the theft.

"All the nuggets and all the fries. Thirty nuggets and a large fry," Newman is heard saying in the video "Poof, just like that."

The video then zeroes in on what remained of the meal.

"He didn't want the salad though. Nothing to do with the salad...weird," Newman says.

According to a report by Fox 13, a second video showed the trash left in Newman's yard after the bear enjoyed its meal.

While Florida black bears aren't typically in the habit of stealing fast food bags from front porches, it's important to secure garbage, pet food, chicken nuggets and other attractants to keep bears from wandering into yards.

"Bears are driven by their need to eat and with a sense of smell that can detect odors over a mile away, problems arise when bears gain access to food sources such as pet foods, garbage, barbecue grills, bird seed or even livestock feed," the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said on its website.

It added, "Once bears lose their natural fear of people, often due to access to food attractants, there is often little hope to make the bear wild again. These habituated and food-conditioned bears are often killed, either by vehicle collisions, illegal shooting, or as a result of bear management actions to keep the community safe."

In short, don't feed the bears. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission offers several tips on how to secure attractants and keep bears out of neighborhoods.
