Lunch & Learn: History Written in Stone – Reading Orlando’s History in Greenwood Cemetery

Lunch & Learn: History Written in Stone – Reading Orlando’s History in Greenwood Cemetery

Ever walked through a cemetery and wondered what the stones might tell you? Cemeteries are more than quiet spaces – they hold clues about the people, values, and events that shaped a community. In this Lunch & Learn, at the History Center or online, discover how to read a cemetery like a historian. Using Orlando’s Greenwood Cemetery as our guide, we’ll explore the landscape, uncover hidden stories, and connect what’s carved in stone to the larger story of Orlando’s past. Once you know what to look for, you’ll never see a cemetery the same way again.
