Central Florida Man Threatened To Shoot 3 Jewish Students: Reports
The Palestinian student said his emotions overcame him after alleging the trio supported the death of his family members, media reports say.
ORLANDO — A University of Central Florida student is facing charges and disciplinary action after being accused of threatening to shoot three Jewish students while at a pro-Israel free expression event, per media reports.
Both News Channel 8 and WESH 2 reported Seif Asi, 21, was attending the university event Tuesday when he entered a brief "heated" exchange with the Jewish students.
Asi walked away from the group, and one of the students told authorities Asi had threatened to shoot them, WESH 2 reported. When approached by authorities, Asi told authorities he was Palestinian.

"He then told police he was tired of seeing Jewish supporters on the UCF campus and complained about a pro-Israel march that had happened last week. Asi said he saw the same group of students at that march, and it made him upset when he saw them setting up their table on Tuesday," WESH 2 wrote.
Per News Channel 8, Asi alleged the Jewish students supported the death of his family in Palestine. That is when he was accused of threatening to shoot them, the outlet reported.

Asi asked authorities if he could apologize to the students, stating his emotions overcame him; however, he was arrested on suspicion of three counts of intimidation and credible threat to a person wearing a religious item, News Channel 8 reported.
UCF told News Channel 8 Asi will be reprimanded for his suspected actions.
“While the student acknowledged his emotions got the better of him and apologized for his words, he will still have to answer for the violations of university policy and state and federal laws," university officials wrote in a statement to UCF.
