Democratic Primary is a two-way race between Bracy and Grayson
Polling says the Aug. 23 Democratic Congressional Primary is a two-way race despite outside money behind 'Defund the Police' candidate Frost

Defund the Police candidate Maxwell Alejandro Frost continues to pile up outside money and endorsements for his campaign in Florida’s 10th Congressional District, but polling suggests that the Aug. 23 Democratic Primary is a two-way race between state Sen. Randolph Bracy, who has some notable Republican support, and former U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, the progressive champion who sponsored to create Medicare for All and ban assault weapons.
Jack Achenbach, financial executive Jeff Boone, the Rev. Terence Gray, civil rights lawyer Natalie Jackson, businessman Khalid Muneer, teacher Teresa Tachon and former U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown all trail in funding and voter support, according to FEC reports and recent polling.
Frost has raised more money for his campaign than the rest of the candidates combined, but his ultra-liberal financiers are spread all across the country while all the voters live in Orlando, Florida, where his once starry-eyed altruism is turning into a darkly negative campaign of recycled smears and lies.

Boone distinguished himself in a televised WESH debate by calling out Frost—the youngest contender—for dishonestly referring to himself as a "gun violence survivor" although he has never actually been a victim of gun violence.
If Frost might be excused for embellishing his employment as a lobbyist for liberal organizations, the same cannot be said about his slanderous attacks on Grayson, a Bernie Sanders ally who earned a reputation as a progressive champion a decade before anyone heard of the Squad.

Bracy was also caught in several lies, announcing in one mailer that he is the only candidate with legislative experience, even though Grayson earned distinction as the most effective member of Congress when he represented the district for three terms in the US House of Representatives.
However, Bracy also identified another deception by Frost, in the same debate, when he argued that the youthful lobbyist had no input on the anti-gun legislation that prohibited the sale of AR-15 assault rifles to people under 21 following the murder of 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
Frost hit back by noting that Bracy voted against the bill, which was signed into law by then-Governor Rick Scott.
"Maxwell Alejandro Frost said he is running for Florida's 10th Congressional District to fight for social, racial, & economic justice but that has taken a backseat to dirty political attacks, negative advertising, and outright lies," said political activist Jack Rexley. "After raising more money than the other nine candidates combined, Frost is unleashing a stream of vile lies about his opponent, Alan Grayson, who seems to be campaigning on his record."
Frost recycled a false claim from a 2016 New York Times article, which was based on an unresolved complaint to the U.S. House Committee on Ethics planted by Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), a conservative Washington, DC organization that was run by former President Donald Trump's acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker.
FACT and the political establishment concocted the complaint to muddy the waters about the way Grayson invested his own money when he was not in Congress, along with other smears about his divorce, while he was running for Democratic US Senate nomination against former Republican Representative Patrick Murphy, who lost the general election to Marco Rubio.
Frost was recently endorsed by the Orlando Sentinel, a corporate media outlet owned by Alden Global Capital, a hedge fund that has eliminated the jobs of scores of reporters and editors, and decimated journalism in cities all over the country.
The three-term congressman's slogan is "Lower Tolls, Lower Taxes, Lower Rent" and he has described a clear plan for fighting inflation.
Grayson – who passed more laws than any other Member of Congress — says he wants to return to the House Banking Committee so he may ensure that tenants get equal treatment by making rent tax-deductible.
Bracy has served in the Florida state Senate since 2012, and claims that he has successfully passed significant reform measures in a Republican-controlled Legislature, but every one of the 29 pieces of legislation in 2022 he introduced died a slow and painful death, like lambs for the slaughter.
