FL-Based Caribbean-Themed Restaurant Chain To Close Or Rebrand All Locations

ORLANDO, FL — Say goodbye to the Caribbean-inspired restaurant chain Bahama Breeze as all locations will either shut their doors or be rebranded, Orlando-based Darden Restaurants said in a news release.

Darden announced on Tuesday its plans to close 14 Bahama Breeze locations and to convert its remaining 14 locations to the company’s other restaurant brands.

Other brands in Darden’s portfolio include Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Yard House, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, The Capital Grille, Chuy’s, Seasons 52 and Eddie V, according to the company’s website.

The decision came after the company determined that the Bahama Breeze brand, including all 28 of its locations, “were no longer a strategic priority and that it would consider strategic alternatives, including a potential sale of the brand or converting restaurants to other Darden brands.”

The 14 Bahama Breeze restaurants set to close, which will operate through April 5, are in the following locations:

• 3590 Breckenridge Blvd., Duluth, Georgia
• 12395 SW 88th Street, Miami, Florida
• 10205 Rivercoast Drive, Jacksonville, Florida
• 1251 West Osceola Pkwy., Kissimmee, Florida
• 11000 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines, Florida
• 1540 Rinehart Road, Sanford, Florida
• 19600 Haggerty Road, Livonia, Michigan
• 2000 Route 38, Cherry Hill, New Jersey
• 3309 Wake Forest Drive, Raleigh, North Carolina
• 320 Goddard Blvd., King of Prussia, Pennsylvania
• 6100 Robinson Center Drive, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
• 2714 Potomac Mills Circle, Woodbridge, Virginia
• 15700 Southcenter Pkwy., Rukwila, Washington

The 14 Bahama Breeze restaurants that will be converted to a yet-to-be announced Darden brand over the next year to 18 months are located in:

• 8849 International Drive, Orlando, Florida
• 8735 Vineland Ave., Orlando, Florida
• 1200 N. Alafaya Drive, Orlando, Florida
• 3045 N. Rocky Point Drive East, Tampa, Florida
• 755 Earnest W. Barrett Pkwy. NW, Kennesaw, Georgia
• 570 Cross Creek Mall, Fayetteville, North Carolina
• 7811 Rivers Ave., Charleston, South Carolina

These locations will stay open until any temporary closures are needed for rebranding.

“The company believes the conversion locations are great sites that will benefit several of the brands in its portfolio,” Darden said.
