FL Cop Charged With DUI Crashed At Daughter's School: Police
Seminole County sheriff said Anthony Lappas' blood alcohol content was over twice the legal limit when he crashed at his daughter's school.
ORLANDO, FL — An Orlando police officer was charged with driving under the influence after authorities said he crashed his truck while attempting to pick his daughter up at school.
Anthony J. Lappas, 32, was arrested Wednesday at Choices in Learning Elementary School, located at 1100 E. State Road 434 in Winter Springs, according to a Seminole County Sheriff's Office arrest affidavit. Lappas was on his way to the school to pick up his daughter, authorities said.
According to the arrest report, the school resource deputy contacted the sheriff's office, who said Lappas had parked in a through lane and was blocking other cars from passing. Authorities said school employees suspected Lappas had been drinking because he was "unsteady on his feet" and his eyes were bloodshot.

Deputies also noted in the arrest report that Anthony's eyes were bloodshot, glassy, and watery, and his movements were slow, sluggish, and lethargic.
