Former Orlando Magic Star Horace Grant Launches New TV Series Celebrating Sports Legends

Four-time NBA champion and former Orlando Magic star Horace Grant is stepping into a new arena— television.

Grant, best known in Central Florida for helping elevate the Magic to their first-ever NBA Finals appearance, is the creator and host of Legends in Session with Horace Grant, an all-new television series currently filming in Chicago. While the city marks where he won his first three championships, it was in Orlando where Grant cemented his legacy as a franchise cornerstone and veteran leader during the mid-1990s rise of the Magic.

The inaugural season will feature 13 one-hour episodes, each offering fans an unprecedented, up-close look at the careers and legacies of some of the most iconic figures in sports and culture.

A Magic Era That Defined a Franchise

After winning three championships with the Chicago Bulls during their historic first three-peat from 1991 to 1993, Grant signed with the Magic in 1994. His arrival in Orlando signaled a turning point for the young franchise.

Paired with emerging superstars Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway, Grant brought championship experience, defensive toughness, and locker-room leadership. In just his first season, he helped guide the Magic to the 1995 Eastern Conference title and the franchise’s first trip to the NBA Finals.

His impact extended beyond statistics. Grant provided structure and professionalism to a rapidly ascending team, helping Orlando transform from promising upstart to legitimate contender.

Now, decades later, he’s channeling that same leadership into a platform designed to honor the legends who shaped the game.

Legends in Session: More Than a Talk Show

Hosted by Grant, Legends in Session is built around three pillars: Telling the Stories of a Generation, Honoring Legends, and Giving Back. Each episode unfolds like an NBA game—complete with a pregame, tipoff, four quarters, halftime, and postgame—creating a format that blends sports culture with candid conversation.

Guests will reflect on defining moments, career triumphs, and personal challenges in discussions that promise to be emotional, revealing, and often humorous.

A centerpiece of each episode is the Hall of Legends induction segment, where Grant formally honors his guest—not just for accomplishments, but for their influence and lasting impact.

Philanthropy is also central to the show’s mission. Grant and each guest will sign two pieces of memorabilia on camera. One item will be auctioned after each episode to benefit the guest’s chosen charity. The second, a season-long “Charity Jersey” signed by every guest, will be auctioned during the finale to support a cause close to Grant’s heart.

“There are so many stories we’ve never had the chance to tell,” Grant said. “This show will allow us to celebrate what we’ve lived through, to give back while we do it, and to inspire the next generation to build on what we started. At its heart, Legends in Session is more than a talk show—it’s a movement that bridges sports, storytelling, and service.”

Star-Studded Lineup

The debut season is set to feature an all-star lineup of Grant’s closest friends, fiercest rivals, and most respected teammates and coaches—including Phil Jackson, Charles Oakley, Vernon Maxwell, Robert Horry, Bill Cartwright, Patrick Ewing, Kendall Gill, Toni Kukoc, and his twin brother Harvey Grant.

Grant also hopes to reunite with two of the most important figures from his Orlando days—Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway. A potential on-screen reunion with the stars who helped power the Magic’s 1995 Finals run would mark a full-circle moment for fans in Central Florida and beyond.

Expanding beyond basketball, the show will also welcome former NFL star and Super Bowl champion Vernon Davis and World Series–winning pitcher Jose Rijo.

The series is executive produced by Wally Lockard III of Urban Grind TV, a 29-time award-winning cable television and internationally syndicated media brand based in Chicago, known for its focus on music, sports, entertainment, and culture.

Currently filming at Urban Grind Studios in Chicago, the show is slated for a mid-2026 premiere. It will air on cable TV in Chicago and will be distributed through Urban Grind TV’s national cable, streaming, and international platforms—including Roku, Apple TV, and affiliated networks.
