Here are the top five stories in Orlando today:
1. One man is dead and another is critically injured after a shooting at a home in Sanford. Police are searching to find the accused gunman. The incident happened at the 100 block of Anderson Circle about half a mile from Goldsboro Elementary. (Click Orlando)
2. Cucina Pizza & Bar held its ribbon-cutting ceremony in downtown Orlando this week with city officials including Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. Guests were treated to samples of bruschetta, pasta and pizza. (Orlando Weekly)
3. A 4-year-old girl was killed and a man and 12-year-old girl were injured in a stabbing in Longwood early Tuesday, police said. The stabbing occurred at 789 Highland St. around 5:40 a.m. Police believe the stabbing was a domestic incident and there is no current threat to the public. (Orlando Patch)
4. A lawsuit filed against the Orlando Sentinel in June 2020 alleging non-payment of rent by the Central Florida newspaper was dismissed voluntarily last week by the plaintiff, according to court records. The Sentinel announced in August 2020 it would vacate the downtown campus. (Subscription: Orlando Business Journal)
5. Orange County police found an injured man at a plaza late Wednesday night at Bravo Supermarkets at 2773 North Hiawassee Road. The man was pronounced dead after being transferred to the hospital. No further information has been released. (WESH)

- There is a growing number of unsheltered families living in Central Florida suburbs as rent spikes. The impact of homelessness on children includes higher rates of drug use, mental illness and school absence, according to researchers.
