New Neighborhood Butcher Shop Debuts in Orlando
Southern Steer Offers Orlando Fresh-Cut Meats, Gourmet Groceries, and More

Southern Steer, a premiere butcher shop offering the highest quality meats and gourmet groceries, recently opened its newest location in Ocoee. Situated at 11024 West Colonial Drive, Southern Steer provides an array of fresh, hand-cut meats and homemade sausages. Additionally, the butcher shop offers healthy side items and features a diverse selection of local craft beers and great wines. A long-time customer favorite is their famous marinated meat selection and private labeled sauces.
Southern Steer Orlando is owned and operated by local couple Steve and Ingrid Clapp. After founding and operating a successful office equipment distribution company for nearly two decades, Steve sold the company and looked to find a new business venture with Ingrid. After discovering Southern Steer during a visit to Sarasota, the Clapps immediately inquired about opening a location in Orlando. Steve’s business experience and passion for cooking and grilling made the Clapps the perfect candidate to bring Southern Steer to Orlando.
“It’s very humbling to help introduce Southern Steer to the Orlando community. For us, it goes beyond just serving our patrons with great meat products,” said Steve. “We pride ourselves on our willingness to educate the customer, whether that’s sourcing the meats directly to the ranches it came from, or offering preparation recommendations and refreshment pairings, we want to help in any way we can.”

Founded in 2013 by Greg Snyder, Southern Steer opened in Clearwater, Florida with the desire to provide the local community with a versatile lineup of meats that goes beyond just the sale of its products. Snyder and his team sought to create a welcoming, inclusive environment with a friendly and knowledgeable staff.
As the brand introduces itself to the Orlando area, Southern Steer is eager to make an impact within the community. In an effort to give back to those in need, Southern Steer launched Project 52 in the summer of 2017. The charitable initiative donates a meal to a family in need every week of the year. Additionally, Project 52 often provides meals to local first responders and healthcare workers who have committed themselves to keeping us safe and healthy.

“We founded Project 52 because we wanted to help local families,” said Crissy Seabolt, Managing Partner at Southern Steer. “52 weeks out of the year we give a meal to a family in need. It’s a great way to give back and it’s incredibly rewarding to help people where we live.”
