Here are the top five stories in Orlando today:
1. The Old Spanish Sugar Mill inside DeLeon Springs State Park is closing after nearly six decades serving residents due to their contract not being renewed. The last day of operation will be September 12 with a new vendor taking over on October 1. (Orlando Weekly)
2. A man was killed and a woman and teenager were injured in a shooting in Orange County, according to police. The incident happened on Holly Creek Road in Zellwood. An investigation is underway. (WFTV)
3. A naked Florida man armed with a machete who allegedly tried to steal another man's clothes was arrested Monday morning at a DeLand gas station, according to the Volusia Sheriff's Office. Brandon Wright. 34, is facing charges of attempted robbery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. (Fox 35)
4. City of Orlando has recovered equipment it said was stolen days after launching litigation against Mad Cow Theatre. "We had been negotiating with the city in good faith over these items," said Mad Cow Theatre Executive Director Mitzi Maxwell. (Subscription: Orlando Sentinel)
5. Kimco Realty acquired Colonial Plaza last year and wants to convert the retail plaza into mixed-use multifamily housing. Buildings could reach up to seven stories high, if approved by City of Orlando. (Click Orlando)
