Undeterred, Food and Nutrition Services staff worked through the summer heat, rain and evening hours to feed students throughout the summer.  Thanks to a United States Department of Agriculture FNS grant, the school district provided free meals for children under 18 years of age. Each week parents could pick up five breakfasts and lunches (10 meals total). By summer’s end, FNS supplied an impressive 1,686,495 meals .  “I am so proud of our FNS team who have worked tirelessly to ensure students have the nutrition they need to learn and grow. Their hard work today ensures student success tomorrow,” Lora Gilbert, FNS Senior Director, said.
