Raccoon Trapped In Jar Saved By Central FL Firefighters: Marion County

BELLEVIEW, FL — Firefighters in central Florida came to the rescue of a raccoon trapped in a tree with a jar stuck on its head Tuesday afternoon.

They responded to SRM Concrete in Belleview just before 3 p.m. to help the animal, nicknamed “Rocky the Raccoon,” Marion County Fire Rescue wrote in a Facebook post.

Rescue units used a platform truck to reach the raccoon in the tree, where they removed the jar from his head. He was placed in a carrier and brought to Marion County Animal Services.

“We are pleased to say that he didn’t suffer any major injuries,” MCFR wrote.
