Stranded Manatee Rescued In Volusia County: Watch
A stranded manatee was rescued from a beach in Volusia County, the sheriff's office said.

PONCE INLET, FL — A stranded manatee was rescued from the beach in Ponce Inlet on Wednesday, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post. (Watch a video of the rescue below.)
Deputies worked with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Volusia County Beaches and members of the county’s Marine Mammal Stranding Team to carry the manatee from the beach.
The manatee was brought to the SeaWorld Rehabilitation Center.

Beachgoers are reminded to not approach or touch a stranded animal, the sheriff’s office said. They can be reported to FWC’s wildlife alert hotline at 888-404-3922.
