UCF Lockdown Prompted After Man Threatens Lynx Driver With Gun: Police
The 27-year-old man has been taken into custody and is facing charges after triggering a lockdown at the University of Central Florida.
ORLANDO — A man is in custody after police accused him of threatening a Lynx bus driver with a gun, triggering Thursday a campus-wide lockdown at the University of Central Florida.
UCF Police said officers were notified sometime in the evening that a "belligerent" man was near Garage A threatening the bus driver.
An emergency alert was issued, and a shelter in place was ordered, police said. UCF's main campus was locked down, with all campus buildings on "access control," police said.

"We recognize that this was a frightening situation and understand this incident has impacted members of our campus community. UCF resources are available to students, faculty and staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week," police said in a news release.
On-campus counseling was available to students through early Friday afternoon.
