The Safety Harbor Main St Hillside Workout

The plan, Stan, is briskly walking uphill on Main Street. Simple workouts can be the best - we will do them more often. And time is a factor. It's outdoors, in the neighborhood, easy, and fast.

The Safety Harbor Main St Hillside Workout

Location: Main Street & 10th Avenue
Distance: only 0.2 miles, about 1000 feet

Starting from the bottom of the steep hill
walk quickly enough uphill so that you know
you will get fairly winded before you reach the top.
When you get tired, simply turn around
and walk back to your starting point.
By the time you get to the bottom of the hill,
you will probably be ready to do it again.

As you walk briskly, swing your arms,
and pick up your feet to increase the benefit.
          Start slowly and get faster...
plus be able to do more repetitions.
It takes less time to get a good workout using the hill.

Be sure to wear good shoes for walking
drink plenty of water before the workout and after.
Walk with the purpose of getting in better shape.
Try to keep breathing deeply at all times (its good for you).
Learn to watch your heart rate and stay safe.

So walking fast uphill and slowly down hill will be
easy to control and you can go at your own pace.
        Add vitamins and nutrition.
This should be a comfortable recipe for
increasing heart rate, breathing rate, and muscle strength.

Next time you see the hill as you are driving or cycling
think about how you could be getting good exercise
and be doing yourself a favor

Please, be sure to ask your doctor if you have any questions or concerns about starting any workout regimen.  My mother had surgery recently and this is not the best idea for her.  Before the surgery, she would take a long walk every morning, and now she has difficulty with short walks.
