The 90-minute walking tour covers documented true crime, local legends, and reported paranormal activity at historic downtown landmarks. Silent Slayer Ghost Tours is running the Carnival of Terror Horror Bus on Saturday April 25, departing from Safety Harbor Resort at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $149 per person and limited to 22 guests. Most Tampa Bay residents have driven past Gibsonton their entire lives without stopping. For over 100 years it was the winter home of America's circus performers, sideshow workers, and traveling showmen. The zoning laws once allowed exotic animals and carnival rides in residential yards. The Showmen's Association built a retirement village there for performers who spent their lives behind the curtain. It is one of the strangest places in Florida and almost nobody knows it exists.
The Carnival of Terror Horror Bus takes 22 guests inside that world with three stops. Exclusive after-hours access to the Showmen's Museum. A stop at the Showtown Bar and Grill where performers and carnies have gathered for decades. And a visit to Showmen's Rest Cemetery, established 1951, where Edmondo "Papa" Zacchini the pioneer of the Human Cannonball act and his daughter are buried beneath a monument reading "A Tribute to All Showmen Under God's Big Top."
