Spend a morning learning the traditional technique of mala-making and how to incorporate mantra recitation into your meditation practice. A mala is a traditional Buddhist rosary, or string of beads, used to count prayers or mantras. In this course we will first learn about the practice of using a mala in conjunction with mantra recitation and the traditional Buddhist techniques for making a mala. This is a simple practice that helps us improve our peace of mind, wisdom and compassion. For Buddhist practitioners, a mala is a very precious and meaningful object that becomes very blessed through regular use.
This workshop is suitable for everyone, whether you are an experienced practitioner or a complete beginner. All materials for this course will be provided, including a selection of semi-precious gemstone beads, threading and tassels. You will come away with a completed mala and the knowledge to use it to benefit yourself and others. Come create something beautiful and deepen your connection to your practice.
