• Safety Harbor pier reopens two years after severe hurricane damage (fox13news.com) — Safety Harbor's beloved pier is finally open again after two years of hurricane damage repairs, with a wider, sturdier design meant to better withstand future storms. The city spent just over $3 million, largely offset by state, FEMA and insurance funds, and will celebrate with a ribbon-cutting on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m. Work at the nearby marina is still ongoing.
