BOGOs No More at Florida Walmarts
The store will no longer honor competitors' buy-one-get-one free deals.

Savvy shoppers accustomed to cashing in on big savings by getting competitors’ advertised buy-one-get-one free deals at their local Walmarts will soon find themselves paying more at the register.
The Big Box store plans to end its Florida BOGO experiment Monday, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Instead of honoring competitor BOGOs with Walmart’s generally lower prices, the chain is going to start pushing its Savings Catcher program.
That program enables shoppers to earn Walmart gift cards for use on future purchases if other nearby stores offer lower prices on purchased items. The program is available as a smartphone app or online. Customers just enter or scan their receipt into the system and Walmart compares the prices. If there’s a lower price nearby, Walmart awards the difference on a gift card.
