Lee Wetherington Homes selected as designated builder in Soleta

Lee Wetherington Homes, a top rated, privately owned custom luxury home builder in Sarasota, recently announced it has been selected as a designated builder in Soleta, a high-end, residential golf course community in Myakka City.

Developed alongside the Myakka River, Soleta is situated eight miles east of Verna Road/Fruitville Road, and four miles west of Myakka City. Currently known for its exclusive, private golf club, the 7,400-yard course crosses grass pasture, oak prairie and sand ridge in a single round, and was designed by Nick Price, World Golf Hall of Famer.

In 2025, Golf Digest named Soleta among the best new private courses in America — the only course in Florida to make the list. Additionally, Golfweek ranked the course as No. 11 on its list of top private courses in Florida, as well as No. 1 in the Sarasota, Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch area.

Soleta homeowners will gain access to the golf club, along with an expanding club village that will bring together resort-style pools, multiple dining and bar options, a dedicated kids club, racquet sports and gathering spaces, all within an easy walk of one another.

Once complete, Soleta’s 93 homesites will spread across 537 acres, with 150 acres in preservation.

Within the community, Lee Wetherington Homes will be building on half- to one-acre homesites. Prospective homeowners can begin their homebuying journey by choosing from a vast array of inspiration plans or work with their internal architect to design their own custom home design.
