Katharine the Great White Shark Returns to Florida
She was last spotted off the coast of St. Augustine early Monday morning.

Shark enthusiasts who have been keeping up with the comings and goings of Katharine the great white shark can rest assured she’s made her way clear of the brutal winter weather biting the northeast right now.
Katharine was last spotted on Monday morning around 5:58 a.m. off the coast of St. Augustine. The 14-foot, 2-inch long great white was cast into the limelight for shark trackers back in 2013 when she was tagged in Cape Cod. Now, her travels up and down the eastern seaboard are mapped out courtesy of Ocearch, a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to researching great white sharks and other apex predators.

Over the past two years, Katharine has followed a migratory pattern that takes her from the Massachusetts coastline south along the eastern seaboard and into the warmer waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Her journey back south this year began roughly on Dec. 30 when she was tracked in the waters off the Massachusetts coastline. By Jan. 20, she had made her way to the waters off South Carolina, according to the Ocearch tracker.
