Man Charged With Murder In Fatal Shooting In Venice: Sarasota County Sheriff
An arrest was made in the death of a man found fatally shot on a Venice sidewalk in April 2025, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said.
VENICE, FL — An arrest was made in the death of a man found fatally shot in Venice last year.
Zachary Bolin, 32, of Venice was charged with homicide: murder dangerous depraved without premeditation in the death of 43-year-old Patrick Warrick, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Deputies responded to reports of an injured, unresponsive person on the sidewalk in the 3900 block of South Tamiami Trail on April 22 just before 2 a.m.

They found Warrick with gunshot wounds to his right shoulder and his abdomen, the sheriff’s office said. He was pronounced dead around 2:30 a.m.
After Warrick’s death, detectives worked to identify Bolin as the suspect and arrested him without incident on March 11 in Venice.

Bolin remains in custody at the Sarasota County Correctional Facility.
