FL Dad Gave Child LSD, Pressured Them To Do Drugs: Sheriff

A child on LSD given to them by their father was found disoriented outside a Florida grocery store, officials said. The father was arrested.

FORT MYERS, FL — A man was arrested for giving LSD to his child, who was found disoriented outside a grocery store, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Deputies responded to reports of the child lying on the ground of the Fort Myers grocery store parking lot around 4:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The child was taken to a local hospital, where they later told deputies that their father, Jeffery Rivenburg, had given them the drug.

During the investigation, Rivenberg’s other children told deputies their father would pressure them into using drugs, which he gave to them, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies found Rivenberg at the La Quinta Inn on Marketplace Road. While searching his hotel room, they found fentanyl, LSD, cocaine and marijuana.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of child neglect without causing great bodily harm, trafficking fentanyl, trafficking LSD, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.

Rivenburg has been arrested more than 30 times for various charges, including multiple drug offenses, battery, theft, and burglary.
