One person was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the fire spread from a single unit into the attic, and investigators are still determining the cause.

Sarasota fire crew honored for quick response in aid to stroke patient (mysuncoast.com) — Sarasota County firefighters from Station 16 were honored for rushing a stroke patient to HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital so quickly that life‑saving medication was given just 19 minutes after arrival, far faster than national standards.
