Principal Busted in Pot-Filled Car With Shirt Unbuttoned, Cops Say
The North Palm Beach educator was arrested last week.

A Florida charter school principal is in hot water after police say they caught her inside a marijuana smoke-filled car with her shirt unbuttoned last week.
Krista Morton, 45, the principal at Mavericks High School, wasn’t alone in the car either. An 18-year-old student was also present, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
North Palm Beach Police were called out to Lakeside Park around 8:30 p.m. May 6 to check on suspicious activity inside a parked car, the paper reported.

The initial caller thought people inside the car were either engaged in sexual activity or were being attacked, WFLA reported.
When a police sergeant knocked on the car, Morton opened the door and said she and the boy were just friends. She also told officers she’d just met the teen, several sources reported, but the boy identified her as his principal.

Police noted Morton’s shirt was unbuttoned and her shoulders and part of her chest were exposed. Officers also noted the smell of marijuana coming from inside the car and found a bag of marijuana, a lighter and rolling papers, the station noted.
Both Morton and the student, who has not been identified, were arrested.
Morton now faces possession of marijuana charges. She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail Wednesday and was later released on her own recognizance, jail records indicate.
