Sarasota Bridge Player Among the Best in the World
Sarasota is now home to one of the world's best bridge players.

After a number of countries dropped out of the World Bridge Teams Championships (WBC) following a cheating scandal that made international headlines, the USA Senior Team, which includes Sarasota resident and bridge professional Reese Milner, emerged victorious.
Held in Chennai, India, from Sept. 26 to Oct. 10, the WBC is an international event held every two years by the World Bridge Federation. The USA Team won one of the three main events, called the d’Orsi Senior Bowl, which is reserved for players 60 and older. Reese Milner was a member of the winning team.
Milner is an accomplished American bridge professional. He has won many national tournaments, including the 2002 Vanderbilt Trophy, the 2010 Philadelphia Transnational Senior Series and the 2012 World Bridge Games’ Transnational Mixed Team Tournament.
