Sarasota Police Charge Man With Murder Of Wife
Sarasota Police have arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with the murder of his wife July 11.

SARASOTA, FL ā Sarasota Police have arrested a 39-year-old man in connection for the murder of his wife on Wednesday, July 11.
Police received a call to assist Sarasota County Emergency Services with an injured person at 944 42nd St. in Sarasota just after 6 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a Blanka Sanders, 47. dead.

The victim's daughter, Laura Sikora, had gone to the home to check on her mother because she hadn't been able to reach her during the day. She said she was concerned because there is a history of violence between the victim and her husband. Spencer D. Sanders II, 39. In May, he was arrested for domestic violence by strangulation after attacking his wife.
Sikora said she used her key to open her mother's front door and found Blanka Sanders lying face down in the kitchen covered in blood. A large kitchen knife was lying beside her.

Police say Blanka Sanders had multiple stab wounds to the front upper torso and lacerations on the front of her neck.
Police say the couple had been arguing on Wednesday and Sanders admitted he had been drinking.
Detectives located Sanders and transported him to the Sarasota Police Department Headquarters for an interview. Following the interview, Sanders was arrested and charged with murder.
Sanders is being held in the Sarasota County Jail. (See related story.)
