Missing Sarasota Senior Located [UPDATE]

A Silver Alert was issued for the 75-year-old who suffers from Alzheimer's.

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL – UPDATE: THURSDAY, MARCH 23, 5:35 p.m.

A Silver Alert issued today for 75-year-old James C. Haney, who suffers from Alzheimer's, was canceled, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said this afternoon, adding that Haney was located safe in Lee County.

"Thanks to all who helped share his info and photo," the department said.

A Silver Alert was issued this afternoon in Sarasota County for James “Chris” Haney, 75, of Sarasota, officials said.

Haney, last reported seen around 6:30 a.m. wearing a white T-shirt, tan pants and sandals, suffers from Alzheimer’s and may have traveled south, possibly to the Punta Gorda area, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said.

He was last known to be driving a 2002 blue Toyota Highlander with Florida license plate GJKC81.

Anyone with information or who may spot Haney is asked to call 911, deputies said.
