Watch: Lamborghini Set Ablaze By Florida Valet
The man reportedly took the luxury car for an unauthorized spin.
MIAMI, FL — Taking initiative at work is generally a good thing. But, employers don’t tend to see it that way when the decision to take the bull by the horns winds up in a $400,000 Lamborghini going up in flames.
A Miami valet reportedly found that out the hard way when he decided to take a quick spin in a fast ride entrusted into his care recently. It seems that over-revving the engine on the pricey sports car along South Beach’s Lincoln Road wound up sparking a fire, according to Fox News. While the fire was quickly put out, the car was rendered out of commission, the station reported.
A YouTube video of the incident also hit the Internet on Monday. The poster of the video reports that valet was fired shortly afterwards.

What sparked the blaze remains unclear, but the video shows flames erupting from the rear of the vehicle. It also shows lots of gawkers looking before one bystander rushed out with a fire extinguisher. It is not clear where the driver worked as a valet.

Unusual causes for car fires aren’t necessarily new in Florida. In 2014, a woman in North Florida created a panic at a gas station when she left a lit candle in her vehicle while it was parked at a gas pump. The subsequent blaze trashed her car before first responders were able to put out the flames.
