Floyd’s 99 Barbershop of South Tampa today announced plans for their grand opening event to be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The day-long celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, an in-shop scavenger hunt, prizes, and more. The shop, located at 1155 S. ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- St. Petersburg Police are investigating the death of a 59-year-old man whose body was found laying in the road. Shortly before midnight, police were called to the 2000 block of 17th Avenue South where they found a man dead. Investigators learned a physical altercation had occurred between the victim and a woman he was socializing with in a nearby empty lot. During the fight, the man received an injury and died. The woman, Nancy Walker, 64, was taken into custody for a separate charge of battery on a law enforcement officer. For now, that is the only charge she faces.The death is still under investigation and Walker may face more charges. The victim's name hasn't been released pending notification of his family.
