AirFest 2016 Dates Announced by MacDill
The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are expected to attend.

Tampa, FL – Tampa Bay area residents eager to see a return of aerial acrobatics to the skies over MacDill Air Force Base will have their wish come true early next year.
MacDill announced the 2016 AirFest will take place March 19-20. The two-day event will feature the United States Air Force’s Thunderbirds, along with a host of other special guests. In addition to aerial performances, the show will feature static aircraft displays and other attractions.
“For 75 years MacDill Air Force Base has provided unrivaled airpower and a rich heritage of associations dating back to 1941,” Col. Daniel Tulley, 6th Air Mobility Wing commander said in an email announcing the dates. “We are excited to invite our community to celebrate our 75th birthday and witness firsthand the capabilities of their United States Air Force. Team MacDill will be on display, and the highlight of the event will be your United States Air Force Thunderbirds.”

AirFest was grounded following 2014’s show due to financial constraints. News that the show might make a 2016 appearance broke late last month.
Full details about the 2016 return are not yet available.
