TAMPA, FL — A Davis Elementary School teacher arrested early Sunday morning in Tampa is accused of driving under the influence, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
In addition to DUI, Jacob Cohen, 35, was also charged with refusal to submit to testing.
Deputies noticed that Cohen seemed impaired after pulling him over around 1:30 a.m., the sheriff’s office said. He agreed to field sobriety tests and continued to show multiple signs of impairment.
Cohen also refused to give a breath sample.
"Driving under the influence is a dangerous and reckless decision that puts lives at risk," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "As someone entrusted with shaping young minds in our community, this behavior is especially concerning. We will continue to hold individuals accountable and remain committed to keeping our roads safe."
