Bubba Returning to Local Radio?
Speculation is high following a few recent signs that indicate Jan. 5 might be the day.

Radio shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge might soon have a new home on Tampa Bay radio following his August removal from 102.5 The Bone’s airwaves.
Todd “Bubba” Clem tweeted an image earlier this week that indicates a possible return date of Jan. 5, 2015. That image coupled with Tampa’s WHFS-FM, 98.7’s recent switch away from sports talk radio with a promise of a “big” announcement has folks talking, The Tampa Tribune pointed out.
The station 98.7 was purchased recently by the Beasley Broadcast Group. That group’s registrar has since secured the Internet domain names 987Bubba.com and Bubba987.com, the Tribune reported.

While Cox Media removed the controversial jock’s show “effective immediately” back in August, the daily program has continued to be available online and other markets, such as Orlando.
Bubba has been a fixture on Tampa Bay radio for years with his show airing on various stations. Not afraid to capture headlines, Bubba caused quite a stir in when a wild boar was slaughtered on his show. He was charged with animal cruelty, but was acquitted in 2002.
A feud between Clem and fellow-DJ Todd “MJ” Schnitt also captured headlines as the two faced off in court.
