Chill Bros. Scoop Shop Helps Beat The Heat With New Water Street Venue

The new Chill Bros Scoop Shop is now open at Water Street.

TAMPA, FL — Just in time to beat the summer heat, Chill Bros. Scoop Shop has opened an ice cream parlor on the street level at the Cora Water Street apartment tower at 1061 Water St.

Founded by and named after the native Tampa Chillura brothers, Chill Bros. offers crafts ice cream, waffle cones and toppings, employing a team of pastry chefs and master gelatiers to ensure every scoop has the perfect flavor.

The new shop at Water Street joins the brothers' existing shops at 1910 E. 7th Ave., Ybor City; 3302 W Bay to Bay Blvd., South Tampa; and 1205 S Howard Ave., Tampa.

Chill Bros is among the tenants on the ground floors of Cora and Heron, Water Street Tampa’s

“Every new retailer that has signed a lease at Water Street Tampa has helped us to create a more well-rounded neighborhood that we know residents, office workers and guests will look forward to experiencing time and again,” said Lee Schaffler, chief portfolio officer for Strategic Property Partners, developer of Water Street.

Soon to open, Small Giant Bar & Restaurant, 1011 E Cumberland Ave., is a neighborhood gathering place featuring the area's first Ohio-style pizza, hand-crafted cocktails and craft beers.

Joining Small Giant will be Wine on Water, a modern neighborhood wine and liquor shop with more than 500 selections. In addition to everyday favorites, Wine on Water will focus on small-batch offerings as well as sustainable and organic wineries.

Wine on Water will offer a rotating by-the-glass list that can be enjoyed in the outdoor wine garden. The shop also will offer an extensive series of educational classes and tastings throughout the year.

These two new offerings are the latest innovations from Jennifer and Torrey Bingham, the founders of Tampa-based Cru Hospitality Group.

“We see the vision that the Water Street Tampa team has of the burgeoning neighborhood, and we’re excited to be part of the fabric of life for those that work and live here,” said Jennifer Bingham. “Small Giant will be their favorite corner bar to have a night out with friends or catch the game. If they want to relax at home with some wine or a favorite cocktail, then the bottles at Wine on Water are just moments away.”

The live-work-play lifestyle was crucial to our retail leasing process, and we’re proud to announce such a diverse group of retailers.”

The new offerings will join Water Street Tampa's growing list of eateries, markets and shops including Anchor & Brine, Six, Bright Ice, Three Corners, Turntable, Driftlight, Garrison Tavern and Naked Farmer.

The phased Water Street Tampa development project began construction in 2018, revitalizing Tampa's downtown waterfront district with 9 million square feet of new commercial, residential,
hospitality, cultural, entertainment, educational and retail uses, totaling more than $3.5 billion in private investment from SPP.

The company is owned and capitalized through a partnership between Cascade Investment LLC, and Jeff Vinik, owner of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
