Detectives Seek Tips On Whereabouts Of Stolen Food Trucks
Hillsborough County sheriff's detectives are searching for two stolen food trucks valued at $30,000 to $35,000 each.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — Hillsborough County sheriff's detectives are searching for two stolen food trucks valued at $30,000 to $35,000 each.
On Nov. 16 between 3:43 and 3:52 a.m., a Ford F-250 pickup truck pulled up to the Pizzeataly food truck, parked in the parking lot at West Hillsborough Avenue and Sawyer Road in Tampa, hooked the food truck trailer up to the truck and drove away with it, fleeing south on the Veterans Expressway.
The pickup truck is possibly a dark-colored Ford King Ranch truck with a light-colored bottom and after-market tire rims. The food truck trailer bears the Florida tag no. LHZG98.

Then, on Dec. 2-3 between 6:30 p.m. and 8 a.m., a pickup truck pulled up to another food truck in the parking lot of Florida Food Truck Builders, 4901 Rio Vista Ave. W. in Tampa, and stole a 16-foot black trailer with the name "Beginning Delights" painted on the sides and a black fabricated shelf holding two white propane tanks. The trailer bore Florida tag no. Y228AZ.

Detectives said the vehicle involved is believed to be a dark-colored 2002-09 Dodge Ram 2400 pickup truck with after-market rims and tires. The truck was last seen traveling south on the Veterans Expressway from Hillsborough Avenue.
Detectives have received information that the food truck trailers may have been taken to the Miami area.
