
A prisoner who escaped managed to escape from Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office custody Friday afternoon is back in handcuffs.
According to the sheriff’s office, the man was transported to Tampa General Hospital for treatment just before 2 p.m. Friday. While receiving treatment, the man managed to escape on foot.
Deputies launched a search. With help from the Tampa Police Department’s K9 and aviation units, the prisoner was brought back into custody in short time, the agency noted in an email to media.

The prisoner’s name has not yet been released. The man, the email noted, was returned to the hospital for medical treatment.
