The city's annual festival of pirate trinkets and treasures -- a tradition since 1904 -- kicks off with vendors and activities for children, as well as this "safety rodeo" for anyone interested in learning how to bicycle safely with traffic.
Children will be fitted with a free new bicycle helmet they can keep (while supplies last), then use one of the rodeo's fun courses to practice their skills. Presented by the Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Commitee of Hillsborough County and the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
