Floyd’s 99 Barbershop of South Tampa today announced plans for their grand opening event to be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The day-long celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, an in-shop scavenger hunt, prizes, and more. The shop, located at 1155 S. Dale Mabry Highway, Unit 6, in South Tampa, is owned and operated by franchisee Stephanie Noyes, a lifelong member of the Tampa Bay community. “Floyd’s is all about giving our customers an amplified experience, and we can’t wait to create that excitement at our grand opening event,” said Stephanie, noting that this is her third Floyd’s location, with shops already open in Clearwater and St. Pete. “This is an opportunity for the community to celebrate with us, meet the stylists, and even get a haircut,” she said. “Floyd’s is for everyone – men, women, and kids – and we’ll be accepting walk-in appointments all day.” The South Tampa location is offering 50% off haircuts for the first 30 days, beginning on Friday. Inspired by the TV show "The Amazing Race," this event encourages two-person teams of children or one child and one adult to complete one-mile cross-country courses with up to eight activities. Be prepared to get a little dirty and wet. The team that completes the tasks and reaches the finish line fastest wins. Each participant who crosses the finish line gets a recognition award, however. Afterward, there will be a victory party with food and drinks. Racers also will have an opportunity to get autographs with #28 Kregg Lumpkin of the Buccaneers. Teams can sign up to compete in Race 1 at 1pm at a recreational walk/jog, in Race 2 at 2:30pm at a competitive jog/run. At least one team member must be a student in grades K through 12.
