Father's Day Weekend Weather: Dangerous Heat Continues
Bay area residents are being warned to limit outdoor exposure.

Tampa Bay area residents hoping for some fun in the sun this Father’s Day weekend may want to consider alternative plans.
The National Weather Service is warning that the excessive heat felt on Thursday may very well drag through the weekend. Highs throughout the weekend are expected to climb into the low to mid-90s throughout much of the Tampa Bay region.
On Friday, forecasters anticipate the “feels like” temperature to climb as high as 105 degrees.

“This will create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible,” the service’s Hazardous Weather Outlook report for Friday stated. “Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outdoors.”
Heat isn’t the only concern either. Scattered thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon and evening hours through Monday at least.
