Seasonal & Holidays

Free House Giveaway Courtesy of Tampa Lawyer

Mark Stopa and his family want to help others this holiday season.

The gift Tampa lawyer Mark Stopa wants to give away this holiday season won’t fit down a chimney, but it may come with one.

The namesake of the Stopa Law Firm is giving away one free house to a Florida family in need, according to Stopa’s website. All interested families need to do is write a 200-word essay on why they should be selected to win. Stopa and his children will choose the winner personally.

Stopa, whose three offices specialize in foreclosure defense, simply wants to give back.

“This holiday season – and, well, always – I am so thankful for everything I have,” he wrote on his blog.

“I am so fortunate and so incredibly blessed.”

The inspiration for the giveaway came from Stopa’s son, Markus, 8.

One day, Stopa explained, his son simply asked him why he couldn’t give away a house to help someone in need. Stopa decided he could do just that, so in a nutshell, that’s what he’s doing.

Families who are interested in being considered for the giveaway must live in Florida and must plan to live in the home that is bought on their behalf. Current clients of Stopa’s firm are not eligible.

Letters should be sent to Stopa Law Firm, Attn: Free House Giveaway, 2002 N. West Shore Blvd., Suite 200, Tampa FL 33607.

Entrants are free to discuss whatever they’d like, but their stories must be true. They can also include one photo.

The deadline for entry is Dec. 23.

Full rules are available on Stopa’s website. The entry deadline was extended from the original Dec. 20 to Dec. 23 in recent days.
